Tackle Football
We offer competitive tackle football for ages 7-14, and those 6 year old's who will be 7 by 12/31/18. The objective of the league is to provide a fully organized and controlled football environment in order to teach the fundamentals of both the game itself as well as character development.

Children are separated by age, weight, and skill. A strict age & weight matrix provides that kids participate in the proper division (see the ages & weights tab for more information on this). Games are played at varying locations across Pinellas County.

Playing Season

The playing season begins with equipment fitting on Saturday, June 30th.  At this time players will be fitted for helmets, shoulder pads, and jerseys.  Jerseys will not be distributed until a few weeks later at which time they will also receive game pants and game socks.  Practice will begin Monday, July 11th at 6:30pm.  Practices will be held Monday – Friday from 6:30pm – 8:30pm until schools starts.  Once school starts practice will be held Tuesday – Thursday 6:30pm-8:30pm.

Our game season consists of a pre-season jamboree, a 10 game schedule, and then concludes with conference playoffs. The conference championship is typically held the weekend prior to Thanksgiving.  All regular season games are generally held on Saturdays.

**Please remember that a minimum of 50% of the balance must be paid prior to equipment fitting day in order for your child to be eligible to play.**

What is expected of me as a parent?

As a parent, you will be required to volunteer in our concession stand or work gate for a minimum of 4 hours per child.  This is a non-profit organization and the responsibility falls on all of us to do our part.

If you are not staying at the field with your child for practice, please ensure you arrive to pick up your child prior to 8:30pm when practice ends.  No child should be left at the field after this time.

We also encourage parents to get involved and cheer it up on game day.  The more CJT fans in the stands the louder we can be!

What happens if it looks like rain or is raining?

Football is played in almost any weather, so we practice football and cheerleading in the rain. You need to always bring your child to the field.  If it looks like it might rain, STAY WITH YOUR CHILD. DO NOT LEAVE!
